Prisoner punished for denouncing mistreatment and bad living conditions at Kilo 8 in Camaguey

On October 9, Leoncio called Ovidio Martin Castellanos, an activist of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU), to denounce the conditions in Kilo 8 prison in the province of Camagüey, where he is being held. The state security officer known as Yoan ordered him to suspend his phone calls in retaliation for Leoncio's denunciation. As a result, the political prisoner will have to remain without access to the telephone for a month as punishment for this action.
