Detained in front of the Praga cinema



On October 29, 2015, Luis Alberto Hernández Marrero, a human rights defender, was standing in front of the Praga cinema when police appeared asking him to show his ID and give them bicycle tires he was holding in his hands. He refused it and told them that he is a human rights defender and will report it to all international bodies. Moreover, if he sold the bicycle tires, it would be just to feed his family. He also said that Fidel Castro had stolen his freedom. He was detained and under investigation for 94 hours and his bicycle tires were confiscated.
