Activist from Cienfuegos detained for 72 hours and fined for hanging 10 provocative banners



On 31 October, 2020, at about 1 am, Tailí Fortún Curbelo, an activist from the Cuban Reflection Movement (MCR), hung up 10 banners in the Paseo del Prado in Cienfuegos, supported by three more activists from the organization. The banners were saying: "Freedom for Armando Andrés García López, as well as for all political prisoners." On the next day, Tailí was detained at 5 pm and driven to the provincial headquarters of the political police located in the Pueblo Grifo District in Cienfuegos. There she was kept until 5 November. Before her release at 5:30 pm, she was fined 30 CUP.
