Roelvis was heading to the headquarters of the UNPACU at Guantanamo in order to continue to the Santuario del Cobre to attend Catholic Mass in Santiago de Cuba. At 5:30 in the morning, near to the headquarters, he was detained and beaten by the officers of State Security Bryan and Sergio in the patrol car no. 631. He was taken to the police station which is 14 km from the city of Guantanamo. He was released at the midday.
