María del Castro Martínez López was arrested while trying to demand the release of a colleague previously detained.

María del Castro Martínez López was arrested, along with other opponents, at 10:30am on C Street, when they were going to the Provincial State Security Headquarters, located on the road to Camajuaní, to demand the liberty of Damarys Moya Portieles, President of the Central Opposition Coalition who was detained the previous day. María del Castro Martínez López and the rest of the activists were approached by the agents, beaten, handcuffed, and placed in patrol cars number 270 and 275. The car took the detainees home, where they were set free.
