Detention of a peaceful opponent for passing out anti-governmental leaflets in the street (Guantanamo)



In the early hours of the morning of August 12 the human rights activist Martin Macias Hernandez was arrested by uniformed (PNR) National Revolutionary Police, as he was heading to the home of the peaceful opponent Eider Frómeta Allen. The arrest took place on the street corner Ahogados. Marin was translated in a patrol car to the unit (PNR) also known as 24 Park, located in Calixto García street corner paint. While in the police station the Chief (DE) Department of State Security in Guantanamo, Jeovanis told Martin that if he continued to liaise with the mercenary Eider and those around him, no one will save him from prison. After 24 hours he was released with an official warning that he refused to sign because they prohibited him to meet with Eider in the house where he was heading before the detention.
