Eduardo was on his way to the Santuario de Cobre to attend a Mass. While arriving at the town of Mella, he was arrested by three agents that were under the command of the political police. They took him strongly by the arms and got him by force into their patrol car. After being detained for three hours at the National Revolutionary Police station, the officer Giron approached him to tell him that he did not want to see him again trying to do any terrorist action. After saying several insults, he was told to go home.
