Yenicel Rodriguez Gondres participated in a march at the Representation of the European Union in Cuba, against systematic and institutionalized violations carried out by the regime. As a consequence the combined forces of the Department of State Security, Rapid Response Brigades and Anti Riots began a brutal beating of present activists.
