Journalist is arrested by State Security officers and warned of usurpation of functions for doing journalistic work in Mamujaba.



Yoel Acosta Games is a human rights activist and reporter for news agencies ADN Cuba. Yoel was detained by State Security (DSE) officers along with several police officers on May 19 in Mamujaba, where he was doing journalistic work. He was taken to the police station, where the DSE officers issued him a warning for the alleged crime of usurpation of functions, arguing that he was not authorized by the government as a journalist to exercise his profession. Around 4 o'clock in the afternoon, after confiscating his Alcatel phone, they released him without further consequences.
